little hail man

This is my make-shifty frosty the hail man.
The hail fell for about 5 minutes, accumulated very quickly and still hasn't melted (at midnight).

Hehehehe - FK

The camera is dead, long live the camera

New camera just arrived today, woohoo! Looks like it has lots of features I will have to learn, but for now enjoy the Olympus Stylus 740 self-portrait and a picture of the photogenic and debonair Sada (who was not ready for the flash it seems)

Camera woes

I need a good digital camera for the trip. It seems that my hp photosmart won't be up to the task. I bought it on sale for $35 about three years ago so I can't complain too much. One of the batteries that I had left in it sprung a leak. I cleaned off the goo and I can take pictures with it, but the quality is really poor (see self-portrait above). The picture of my cat was taken with the same camera a couple of years ago and is fine, so it must have somehow gotten borked.

Just ordered a new one; I'm getting a Cannon Stylus 740 5x zoom w/ image stabilization:

I found a good price on ebay, supposedly refurbished to new condition (*knock on wood*).

Two weeks left!

Ahem,

This is where Kae and I will be blogging our trip to Buenos Aires. We will be leaving March 4th, and staying most of the month. I'm finishing up a job right now so I haven't had much time to get ready, and will probably be scrambling like mad at the last minute to pack.

We have an apartment in the Recoleta district. Here's the location on google maps:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=34%C2%B035%2733.46%22S,+58%C2%B023%2729.16%22W&ie=UTF8&z=12&ll=-34.587715,-58.391304&spn=0.131429,0.398941&t=k&om=1&iwloc=addr

Google doesn't seem to have much besides satellite info for the city, so I've been using the city government's interactive map to see whats around:

We are near the intersection of Callao and Santa Fe.

Testing

Testing...one, two, three...is this thing on?
